This has marked one of the craziest weekends of all. We had visitors from AB come over, which was great. Although during their visit we also had about 80 cm of snow fall. Our normal routine of life was thrown off. Church was cancelled. School was cancelled. Work was cancelled. Life was cancelled. Ok, I went a little far with that one. But for these people, whose cars were buried in this apocalyptic ice age, it was at least put on hold. It's days like today that really remind you what is actually important. Family matters. Like really matters. We can get sucked into the monotony of life and forget about all the wonderful aspects of where we have come. We have warm homes and food and family that we can enjoy. Maybe the reason days like today happen, is God trying to remind us where to keep our focus.
I'm not going to lie, this amount of snow is fairly disheartening, especially when we just moved from Alberta to 'flee' winter. It just makes one realize there is literally nothing that we can control. The sooner we can accept this the more peace God will give us. He says 'do not worry' 'I am with you always' how many times?
For now this carpenter has been grounded. We will have to see where God leads this week, but it is always promising! Life has a story, I will try tell it.
